The parish council discussed the following at their meeting on September 17, 2020:
Leaks in the rectory roof at St. Matthew have gotten worse and we will need to contract with a roofer to have them fixed. Religious education will be held virtually this year due to the pandemic. Our fiscal year ended August 31, 2020 and with overall expenses closely controlled during the pandemic months we were able to come under budget. The 2021 budget document is not available yet as it is still being finalized.
The SAIL School has moved into the OLPH school building. A window was smashed recently at OLPH rectory; a report was filed with the Police Department. Outside cameras will be installed at OLPH Church. Short term rental use of the St. Matthew school property was discussed while the council explores possible senior citizen housing at the site.
The Foodtown Gives Back program continues to be a success and has provided $2,200 in income to the parish for the first seven months of the year. Live streaming of the Mass continues every Sunday and Fr. Henry will consider adding additional Masses as attendance climbs but the schedule may not be the same
