Parish Council Meeting Summary

The Parish Council met via Zoom for their monthly meeting on October 22, 2020. New officers were elected for the council: Tom Milton as Chair, Joseph DiSalvo as Vice Chair and Bryan Healy as Secretary. The council thanked Packy Murray for his service as chair and as a member of the Buildings & Grounds Committee. The Liturgy Committee reported that planning for an advent retreat is underway. It will be held both in-person and via live stream to ensure everyone can participate. The Social Committee will be looking to see if activities can be scheduled via Zoom to help increase participation in parish life. Father Henry created an ad-hoc committee to determine the mass schedule for Christmas. The annual Thanksgiving Eve Mass at OLPH will continue this year; details will be announced shortly. Members of the Buildings & Grounds Committee cleared the drains at St. Matthew Church in preparation for roof repair work. This work is the precursor to the repainting project at the church which is part of Renew and Rebuild. The doors of the church will also be refurbished as part of this project. Father Henry anticipates that this project will take place in spring 2021. The next meeting of the council will take place on November 19, 2020, at 5 p.m.
