The Parish Council met via Zoom on April 15. Fr. Henry reported to the council that he will be scheduling a meeting with a designer to review color scheme samples for the interior painting of St. Matthew Church. The organist at OLPH Church is moving to Florida; the organist from St. Matthew will be covering both churches for the time being. The cost to replace the organ at OLPH will be in the range of $20,000; the previous organ served the church well and lasted about 40 years. Tom Milton reported that he has received financial statements for the first six months of the parish's fiscal year. Income is steady and expenses are within budget. The parish has been successful in receiving a second PPP loan. The archdiocese is working with parishes to ensure the loans are forgiven and turned into grants. Joe Muldoon reported that he is still waiting on a third estimate for the roof repairs to the St. Matthew Church rectory. He has also come up with a possible solution to repair the doors at St. Matthew Church. Irene Newman reported on her attendance at the Northern Regional Gathering for youth ministry and also on the New York Catholic Youth Day being held on May 1. Alexandria Stroud reported that the liturgy committee is looking to put together a program on the Year of St. Joseph in the near future. The next meeting of the parish council will take place on May 27th at 5 p.m. via Zoom.
