The Parish Council met on October 19, 2023. Finance Council chairman Tom Milton provided an update on the parish's financial situation, as well as the soon-to-be completed Renew and Rebuild campaign. Fr. Crawford updated the council on the repairs to OLPH School following the flood on September 29th, the parish picnic and the St. Matthew School building. An Advent mission has been scheduled for December 17-19 (details to follow) and the Christmas Mass Schedule was discussed as Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year. More than 50 stocking stuffer raffle tickets have been sold. It was announced that Elizabeth Mullen has resigned from the council; the council wished her well and will miss her presence. A description of the Altar Society duties has been developed and Fr. Crawford will be reaching out to some parishioners to get the group started. A new coffee hour will begin at St. Matthew on October 29, like the one presently held at OLPH Church. Volunteers are needed! The Christmas Concert will return in December led by organist Danny Grey and cantor Alice Smyth; date to be announced. The next parish council meeting is scheduled for November 16th. Parishioners are welcome to contact Fr. Crawford or Bryan Healy with any questions or concerns to address.
