The Parish Council met on September 15th. A financial report was presented by Tom Milton. Parish Giving is beneficial and is successfully being used by over 100 parishioners, saving the Parish time and money. Religious Education has begun at both Ardsley and Hastings. The 7th and 8th grade parents voted whether or not to retain in person teaching, or to teach remotely. By a show of hands, parents voted to keep in person classes. There are some upcoming events being planned such as a Parish Mission which will span over three days with speaker Rev. William Barrett, O.P. The Parish Picnic was a success. Despite the weather, 101 parishioners enjoyed the food and convivial chatter. The annual Saint Patrick’s Celebration will be held March 26th at OLPH School Gymnasium. Repairs are moving forward and some additional items will be addressed on the Saint Matthew’s campus, including the sidewalks and stairway. Since the parishioners have enjoyed Turkey Bingo and the Christmas Concert in the past, they will be offered again. Keep you eye out for the sale of The 300 Club Christmas Stocking Stuffer tickets. 300 tickets will be sold and the grand prize will be $10,000! There will be additional smaller prizes too. Please consider helping to strengthen our Parish by volunteering with the various events and religious education either as an assistant, or just set up and clean up. Importantly, we need altar servers. It would be a blessing to have our young boys and girls learn more about the Mass and participate.
