Sunday Masses Resume This Weekend: June 13-14

His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan made a wonderful announcement last evening: Sunday Mass can resume this weekend (June 13-14) in the upper counties of the Archdiocese (including Westchester)! Mass can now resume at 25% of the capacity in each church provided that physical distancing and other guidelines are followed. All precautions must be taken (wearing of masks, maintaining a six-foot distance, no physical contact except for communion, frequent washing of hands and sanitizing surfaces). 

At this time, the Sunday Mass schedule will be as follows:

St. Matthew Church: 4 PM Saturday and 8:30 AM Sunday
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church: 5 PM Saturday and 10:30 AM Sunday

There will not be an 8:30 AM Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and there will not be an 11 AM Sunday Mass at St. Matthew at this time. This schedule will be subject to change based on this weekend's experiences. 

At 25% of capacity, St. Matthew Church can hold 100 individuals and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church can hold 50 individuals. We will have greeters at the doorways of each church counting the number of individuals arriving for Mass. Please note that we are prepared to set up a live stream of the Mass in the basement of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for any overflow crowd. Greeters will direct you downstairs if this becomes necessary.

Entry at St. Matthew Church will be through the main doors on Warburton Avenue only. Exit at St. Matthew Church will be through the side door on Villard Avenue only. At Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, entry and exit will remain through the main doors at the back of the church; those in the overflow area in the basement will exit through the basement doors.

Please note that a dispensation from Sunday Obligation is still in effect for those who are not comfortable returning at this time. We will broadcast the Sunday Mass at 10:30 AM on our Facebook page.

Finally, the new schedule for Confessions will be as follows: 

St. Matthew Church: 9:30 to 10:30 AM and 3:00 to 3:45 PM Saturday.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church: 8:30 to 9:30 AM and 4:00 to 4:45 PM Saturday.
